From the Collection of Admiral Grindall, an Able Seaman aboard Captain Cook’s Resolution during his second circumnavigation; thence by direct descent through his family.
A six-spindled comb of quills and flying fox fur fibre. The spindles are approximately 22 cm long. The weaving is 2 cm wide. Collected from the North-East coast of La Grande Terre in New Caledonia by Admiral Grindall whilst he was an Able Seaman aboard Captain Cook’s Resolution during his second circumnavigation.
