From the Collection of Admiral Grindall, an Able Seaman aboard Captain Cook’s Resolution during his second circumnavigation; thence by direct descent through his family.
An uspúka (bracelet) (?) of 16 iridescent shells strung on leather or fibre; measuring approximately 4.5 inches in length. 18th Century or earlier. Acquired by Admiral Grindall (an Able Seaman aboard the Resolution on Captain Cook's second circumnavigation) in December 1774 while the ship was at Tierra del Fuego (?).
