Achilleas Apergis was born in Corfu in 1909. He was trained in drawing and sculpting and began embracing more abstract work in the 1950s. His first solo exhibition took place in 1955 at Ilissos Gallery in Athens. He has exhibited in galleries in Florence, Milan, and at the Carl Flicker Gallery in Paris (1965). He participated in multiple international art fairs representing Greece including the São Paulo Biennale (1957), the Alexandria Biennale (1957) and the Venice Biennale (1968).
