Ari Walter Kampf was a painter. He was the son of the landscape painter Eugen Kampf, the nephew of the well-known genre and portrait painter, Arthur Kampf, and the grandson of the painter and imperial-court photographer, August Kampf.
Ari was taught by Hans Hofman at his private art school in Munich. He then continued his education in Paris. He participated in the exhibitions in the Munich Glass Palace, as well as in the Rheinische Secession in the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf (1930). He was one of the first artists to show works in the Hella Nebelung gallery. Kampf was a member of the Free Association of Düsseldorf Artists and of the Neue Gruppe in Munich.
