Branko Ružić was born in Zagreb. He studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. In 1951 Ružić held his first solo exhibition in the Vinkovci City Museum, and in 1964 Ružić was included in the Venice Biennale. From the 1960s to the 1980s he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb. In 1993 a gallery named after him was opened in Croatia.
